Do you enjoy taking your dog to the dog park? Need some tips to make your visit go smoothly?
This free workshop will help you be successful at the dog park.
Our trainers will prepare you for your visit as well as give you information on what is
appropriate your dog while at the dog park.
You will learn to:
- Determine whether your dog is playing appropriately
- Determine whether a dog park is a good place for your dog
- Understand basic canine body language
- Manage or avoid inappropiate situations
This is a workshop for humans only, please leave your dog at home.

This class is geared toward expectant moms, dads, grandparents, and those who

- How to manage interactions and the environment

This test was developed by the American Kennel Club (AKC) to recognize dogs with good manners.
In order to pass this test, you must demonstrate several skills with your dog including:
- Accepting a friendly stranger
- Sitting politely for petting
- Appearance and grooming
- Walking on a loose lead
- Walking through a crowd
- Sit, down, and stay
- Coming when called
- Reaction to another dog
- Reaction to distraction
- Supervised separation
You do not need to have an AKC registered breed to take this test. Full details on all test requirements are available on the AKC's web site.
AKC S.T.A.R Puppy Award Ask your instructor or call 630.904.0895 with questions.
This test was developed by the American Kennel Club (AKC) to get dog owners and their puppies off to a good start. In order to receive the AKC S.T.A.R Puppy Award you must:
- Enroll and attend all 6 weeks of class
- Complete and return all class homework
- Provide identification for the puppy (collar tag, microchip or tattoo)
- Bring clean-up bags to class
Your puppy must:
- Be free of aggression toward people and other puppies
- Tolerate a collar or harness
- Accept a hug from its owner
- Allow a treat or toy to be taken away
- Allow petting and grooming
- Walk on leash
- Sit, down and come on command
- Stay on leash with another person

Brain Games $20 1 hour November 20, 2010 11:00AM
Is it too hot or too rainy to get outside to play with your dog? Try some mental exercise instead! Join us for our Brain Games workshop in which you will be able to test drive some of the most popular interactive dog toys on the market! This 1 hour workshop is designed to get your dog to use its brain to figure out puzzles, toys and other mental activities. There will be 8 brain stations that each dog will have a turn at. While there, you will keep track on your dogs score and at the end of the workshop there will be a prize for our brainy dogs.

Dogs will often create their own entertainment and many times their solutions to boredom are activities that drive us crazy … like digging holes, barking at squirrels, or chewing on the pool cover. Come join us for an hour long workshop in which we help you problem solve some of the most common backyard misbehavior. We will introduce you to some techniques to set up your backyard to be fun and engaging for any dog!

A dog's nose is estimated to be 10,000 times sharper than the human nose. It is no wonder they're always sniffing! In this workshop, you will learn to harness this ability for fun and games. This activity is great mental exercise for your dog and helps you peer more closely into your dog's nature.

Interested in Agility? This workshop is for people and dogs with no agility experience. The workshop will give you a brief introduction to agility basics and find out if you and your dog are interested in learning more.

Looking for some summer shaping fun for you and your dog? In this one day workshop we will help you teach your dog the tricks needed to have a pleasant day at the beach. In addition to playing some beach themed games, the tricks that will be taught are:
- Laying out for a tan
- Getting a drink out of the cooler
- Playing beach volleyball

Do you have dreams of walking your dog outside without him/her stopping to sniff everything? Do you feel like when you get outside your dog as lost all interest in you? Do you feel like your dog decides where you are walking instead of the other way around? If so, this is the class for you! We will work on keeping your dogs attention on you when walking outside.
Keep in mind:
- All classes will be held outside, rain or shine
- Locations will be throughout the western suburbs
- Participants must be willing to drive to a different predetermined location for each class
- You need to be prepared to walk for the entire hour
This class is open to dogs that have been through at least one session of Intermediate, a Walking Workshop or have instructor approval.

This is a class that will help you handle the challenges of walking through a neighborhood, while still having your dog pay attention to you!

This is the class where we work toward making that happen. We will work on exposing our dogs to variety of town and shopping situations and giving them the tools to handle it all with a breeze!

Doggie Dinner Club Your dinner 2 hours Date to be announced
Looking for a night out on the town with your dog? Join the Doggie Dinner Club. This is group of dedicated dog owners and their dogs who get together for a night out of walking and good food. Each meeting consists of a walk in a local neighborhood that ends with a meal at a dog friendly restaurant. Loose leash walking, polite dog manners, and desensitization to different environments are the dog training focus of this group. For the people it is a chance to enjoy a night out with your dog and with other dedicated dog owners in a fun relaxing environment. The Doggie Dinner Club is a club for owners and dogs that completed all of our Walking Challenge sessions.
